In my recent post I talked about why I love travelling with a companion. While there are many benefits to travelling with a companion it can sometimes be extremely fraught and difficult. Most of us have experienced the scenario when one person wants to sit on a beach and the other person wants to see every single museum. Knowing what type of travel personality you are and what type your travel companion is can greatly help make your adventures a deux simpler.
You love to sit by the pool soaking up the glorious sunshine. Sipping cocktails and flicking through the pages of your new bestseller book you purchased at Heathrow Terminal 3 is your idea of the perfect holiday. Your suitcase has more bikinis than Melissa Odabash owns.
You love adventure, a hike, a bungee jump, kayaking down a great fall. If your heart isn’t racing it’s not a holiday. Your suitcase is made up of trainers, sensible practical clothing, most unlikely to find a pair of Sergio Rossi heels in your bag.
You have a list of all the museums, art galleries, hisotorical churches that you want to see well in advance of your holiday. Museums and galleries are your sunbed and if you don’t walk around at least 10 then your holiday has been a disaster. Your suitcase contains guide books and practical wear. Rain isn’t going to stop you from visiting the Prado museum.
FOODIE / HOTEL LOVER
Your holidays are planned around which hotels you want to stay in and which Michelin starred restaurant you want to dine in. You may not know your Gaudi from your Van Dyck but you do know your soufflé from yourconsomme .Your suitcase contains beautiful dresses and skyscraper heels after all no one turns up to a fine dining restaurant looking drab.
So dear reader what’s your travel personality? Zoe x
Ps if you want to know mine I am really a mix of all of these travel personalities. I love beach babe Zoe, but she gets bored and needs some adventure. Culture is what keeps me going and I absolutely love my food and a good hotel.
