#instaturnberry – Fresh air, rolling hills and lots of luxury

Let’s go to Glasgow said my wonderful friend A,  but not really Glasgow, to a place called Turnberry. Never one to say no to a quick jetset trip to a luxury hotel, off we went to discover a new place and enjoy the wonderful delights of Trump Turnberry a Luxury Collection Resort*.  Prior to visiting Turnberry I had never heard of this gorgeous location. Turnberry is in Ayrshire which is the South-West of Scotland. Every time I discover somewhere new in the UK I say the same old thing ‘Oh I must see more of the UK’.

Now unlike my EAT,SLEEP,PRAGUE post, dear reader I have to warn you, that you do not come to Turnberry to go wild. However somehow I did manage to go wild in Turnberry (where there is a will, Zoe will find the way), my Instagram is testament that a bottle of Perrier Jouet can make a girl go wild even in sleepy Turnberry. I digress,   you come to Turnberry to lap in luxury, do amazing activities, take your dose of fresh air, find inner peace and repeat several times before you go home. Our first stop was our home for the weekend the wonderful Trump Turnberry a Luxury Collection Resort*.

Isn’t the outside of the hotel just gorgeous! I cannot wait to share part one of my review with you later on this week. It is to die for! Anyhow back to Turnberry, to give you an idea of the scale of the town, it only has ONE CASHPOINT. Yes that’s exactly how I felt when I heard that. Before you ask there is no Uber in Turnberry.

We absolutely loved walking and exploring the beautiful grounds of Trump Turnberry.

This beautiful lighthouse which is the halfway house at Trump Turnberry stole my heart. I absolutely love buildings and great architecture and I think lighthouses are so striking and this one was beyond striking.

Nothing is more perfect for me than breathing in gallons and gallons of fresh air.  My fresh air quota for the year was certainly met on this luxury weekend getaway.

We took a walk through Turnberry ,rolling down many hills and enjoying the huge sheets of green field.

Now everyone knows I love London but I equally love fresh air and rolling hills, especially when paired with lots of luxury.

One of the main attractions near Turnberry is Culzean Castle. You all know how I love playing Princesses or better still Queens when my inner diva kicks in.  You may also  know that I am a firm believer that every woman should wear her crown and wear it well.

Culzean Castle was striking however I have to admit I am not one that likes to spend too much time looking inside castles. I find it a little bit dull looking at antiques, call me uncultured but once I have found where the thrones are, I much prefer looking around well tendered gardens and taking in beautiful rolling hills.

As well as the wonderful walled gardens in Culzean you can find deer as well as my dear old friend the llama.

From Culzean castle you can also take a walk down to the rugged beaches.  I love golden sand beaches and  turquoise seas but I also love rugged beaches. Mother nature gives us so much and the tranquillity and peace of this beach was so hard to capture in a photo.  The stillness it gave was so perfect to stop and take a moment to do nothing but admire it (and then take a picture as every discerning blogger would do).

Where have you discovered in the UK recently? Zoe x
