If you read my Eat, Sleep, Prague post you would have noted that Prague has been on my running list of travel destinations to conquer for a while. As a house warming present my Mother and I went on a luxury weekend trip to Prague. Prague has many hotels and I usually spend months thinking about where I shall lay the fine hairs on my head. However as this trip was not really booked in advance I didn’t have as much time to do hotel research as I would have wished so I went to one my trusted hotel groups Small Luxury Hotelsto book a hotel.
If you haven’t heard of the Small Luxury Hotels, you need to join the SLH Club as they specialise in independent boutique luxury hotels. Not any hotel can join so rest assured if it belongs to SLH then it won’t disappoint. Prior to starting my luxury travel blog I have stayed in many of their hotels and I have even met Rick Stein in one of my favourite ones (Vault House Karakoy). If it is good enough for Rick it is good enough for me!
The Boho Prague Hotel is a stone throwaway from Old Town in Prague. Everything was within walking distant of the hotel and the location was great to discover the main tourist sites in Prague.
From the moment I walk into a hotel I can tell whether my hotel choice is going to be on point or absolutely dire. When we walked up to the checking desk and were greeted with a warm smiley face and offered a glass of champagne I knew that our stay was going to be great.
Never one to say no to a glass of bubbles we enjoyed our glass while we were given a brief but thorough overview of Prague. In addition to this the hotel also arranged a tour of Prague Castle for us. I was impressed with the level of service I received from the first day to the very last day we were waved off. Staying in a luxury hotel is not only about the room and amenities but about the level of service you receive.
Boho Prague Hotel is truly a boutique hotel with only 57 rooms. Now for most weekend trips I generally stay in a standard room as I hardly spend anytime in the room on a city break however on this occasion we booked a Suprerior room. The room itself was perfectly apportioned and was super sleek. I like my rooms super ultra modern or full of character features.
I love clean lines and the neutral setting of this room was just perfect. The angle of the photo doesn’t quite enable you to see how spacious the room actually was.
One my favourite parts of the room was the bathroom! A good bathroom is always necessary. My ultimate hotel bathroom has two separate his/her sinks and a massive bathtub and huge rain shower. I am a girl who loves a long rain shower to start her day. The bathroom at Boho Hotel ticked off everything that I would expect in my ultimate hotel bathroom, so much so if you saw my instastories while I was in Prague I pretty much gave a quick room tour and jumped into the shower as it looked so amazing. Does anyone else do that after a flight or is it just me?
I always like to see what bathroom amenities hotels offer, and this little bathroom vanity box contained all the standard but necessary items you would need.
One of the things that most excite me about staying in a hotel is the breakfast. I have perfected my ability to eat like a Queen for breakfast and I really enjoy and savour the moment.
What I adored about the Boho Hotel was that for breakfast you could serve yourself from the variety of fresh continental breakfast and have yoghurts, fruit, hams, cheese freshly baked pastries, etc to start and then you could also choose to order a cooked breakfast from a menu. The menu included everything from poached eggs, to pancakes with maple syrup.
As well as the main lobby area, the hotel had this wonderful library space, where you could enjoy a nibble and a glass of wine.
Even though I did not have the opportunity to try the hotel spa and sauna I thought it was pretty amazing that a boutique hotel of just over 50 rooms had spa facilities. It’s services such as this why I absolutely adore the Small Luxury Hotels and why my stay at Boho Hotel Prague was the perfect luxury weekend to spend time with my darling mother and explore a city that I had never been to.
How do you choose your luxury hotel?
