Wow! How wonderful has the weather in London been over the last few weeks? I am loving it, as it means, topping up my tan and having lots of play time in London’s various rooftop bars. I have barely recovered from my last play time at Neverland London, but if there is sunshine, a rootop and cocktails (always plural) then I am there. I will find the energy as it is my perfect summertime recipe.
This weekend I had a date with my bestie and it was my turn to choose our play date location. Having seen so many pictures on Instagram of Pergola on the Roof, I decided to try Pergola (Paddington Central), all in the name of research for the blog of course. In all honesty I didn’t fancy trying Pergola on the Roof as in my mind I couldn’t see how a rooftop bar on top of a car park could work so Pergola Paddington it was.
Our first priority was to find where the food was! I tell you this I was so starving I didn’t even notice the bright colours and how funky it was as my main priority was finding THE FOOD. Zoe ‘hangry’ is not fun for anyone especially me as all I want to do is cry.
I loved downstairs as it spacious and beautifully decked out. The warms summers day was made even warmer by the glass roof. Downstairs which is still outside had some ‘streetfood’ options. As well as my favourite Patty & Bun you can also get food from Decatur, Mamalan, Raw Press and DF/Mexico.
I have to admit I did not I pause for breath when I tucked into my favourite Ari Gold and rosemary chips burger. This burger was everything! Patty and Bun never lets me down and I am so glad I stuck with my what I know. Once our juicy burgers where devoured we thought it time to explore the cocktails menu.
The drinks options at Pergola were quite impressive. As well as regular sized rose they also served Magnum bottles of prosecco and rose. It actually reminded me of the South of France where Grande Roses are the order of the day. As it was just the two of us we decided cocktails would be the order of the day.
Despite being served in plastic cups the cocktails at Pergola were excellent and as you can see from the smile on my face, I was one happy lady. The sun topping up my cocoa factor, brill cocktails, good girl chat and fabulous fun times (and after 4 hours in the sun with no sun protection a wonderful dose of heat rash on my face! That will teach me.) Putting that aside Pergola Paddington Central gets my seal of approval and I will certainly aim to come back again this summer.
